Watch: How a fifth-generation pump boosts wind turbine maintenance
Back in 2000, the first Easy Grease pump revolutionized wind turbine lubrication. Now, the fifth version is out with new and improved features.
It’s good to be Product Manager at Hove these days. Just ask Claus Ahler, our Sr. Sales & Product Manager.
He is currently touring trade shows and visiting clients with a new gadget.
“The Easy Grease v5 is a really great piece of equipment. It’s built around our tried-and-trusted platform but brings new benefits to technicians,” says Claus Ahler.
One key improvement is the updated design, which allows for easy storage of the grease cartridge inside the case without having to disconnect it from the pump during transport.
“This new design greatly reduces the risk of airlocks and eliminates the need for pins to support the cartridge. But there’s more to it than that. Especially the new ACCU battery, which makes handling so much easier. We’re excited to demonstrate it all to our customers,” says Claus Ahler.
If you don’t want to wait for Claus or one of his colleagues to stop by, you can watch him demonstrate Hove Easy Grease v5 right here…
User story: “It’s the Rolls Royce of lubrication pumps”
Already, Easy Grease v5 has been tested in action by several wind turbine operators and OEMs. Here’s how one user experiences working with the new pump:
“Our team is really pleased with the new Hove Easy Grease v5. We all find it to be a very dependable and easy-to-operate tool. It’s simply the best lubrication pump there is right now—the Rolls Royce of pumps.”
The words belong to Thomas Bøgelund Larsen, a Lead Service Technician with the Danish wind giant Vestas. He and his teams have worked with ten of the new Easy Grease v5 pumps, and they are pleased to say the least.
“There are just a lot of positives: The ACCU battery means we don’t have to deal with long power cords inside the turbines. The grease cartridge is packed inside the pump’s casing, which makes it much easier to handle. And we haven’t experienced any problems with false air or any breakdowns. It just works,” says Larsen.
